As one of our first customers, Koppert Slovakia has been a long-term partner, with whom we produce toilet trays for bumblebees used in greenhouse pollination.
Koppert’s previous plastic trays had a key functional limitation: they prevented moisture from bumblebee droppings from evaporating, which encouraged mold and bacterial growth. As a result, the company sought a more suitable material for the bumblebees.
In cooperation, we developer a moulded pulp solution to replace the original plastic version. The paper fibers ensure good moisture evaporation, and thus supporting a healthier environment to the bumblebees.
Over the course of our long-term collaboration, production has been simplified from three separate steps into a single compact line. Today, forming, pressing, and trimming are done in one step, making production faster and more efficient, while quality is adjusted precisely to the application without unnecessary costs for the customer.

Our partnership with Koppert demonstrates that moulded pulp extends beyond packaging for electronics and cosmetics. It is a material capable of replacing plastic while providing environmental benefits that plastic solutions cannot offer.
